MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS


For most programs, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • General Category: Minimum 55% marks or 6.0 CGPA in qualifying degree

  • SC/ST Category: Relaxed criteria of 50% marks or 5.5 CGPA

  • Valid entrance examination scores in GATE/CEED/UGC NET depending on program and qualifying degree is desirable


PROGRAM-SPECIFIC ELIGIBILITY

These programs welcome graduates from Architecture, Planning, Civil Engineering backgrounds as well as candidates with master’s degrees in Geography, Economics, Sociology, and other relevant social sciences.


1. Master of Architecture (Architectural Conservation)

Open to candidates with bachelor’s degrees in Architecture, Planning, Civil Engineering, or master’s degrees in History, Cultural Studies, Heritage Studies, Anthropology, Museology, Archaeology, or related 2 years PG Diplomas in Archeology. Museology and conservation.


2. Master of Architecture (Landscape Architecture)

Accepts candidates from varied backgrounds including bachelor's of Landscape Architecture, Architecture, Planning, Civil Engineering, and with four-year full-time Interior design and urban design Additionally, candidates with Master’s degrees in Botany, Zoology, Horticulture, Agriculture, Forestry, Ecology, Geology, Geomorphology and Geography can apply


3. Master of Architecture (Urban design)

Accepts candidates only Bachelors in Architecture and Planning


4. Master of Architecture (Sustainable Architecture)

Open to the candidate with Bachelors in Architecture and Civil Engineering


5. Master of Building Engineering and Management

Primary qualifications include bachelor’s degrees in Architecture, Planning, Civil Engineering, Building Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Building Science, Building and Construction Management, Construction Technology, Construction Engineering and Management and five-year diploma in Construction engineering & Management


6. Master of Design (Industrial design** or Master of design*)

Open to the candidates with bachelor ‘s degree in Architecture, Engineering with Valid CEED score, Planning with valid CEED score, Design with valid CEED score, Graduate Diploma in Product Design and valid CEED score, Bachelor of fine arts (BFA) with one year experience and valid CEED score, Master of Fine Arts (MFA) with valid CEED Score.

7. Master of Planning (Environment Planning**) (Environmental Planning and Management*)

Primary qualification includes Bachelor’s degree in Environmental engineering and Planning, Master’s in Geography, Economics, Sociology, Environmental science, Environmental Management and five-year integrated Degree in Law with specialization in Environmental Law/General Law from a recognized university.


8. Master of Planning (Regional Planning)

Open to the candidates with Bachelor’s degree in Planning, Architecture, Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering and Master’s Degree in Geography, Economics and Sociology.


9. Master of Planning (Urban and Regional Planning)

Open to the candidates with Bachelor’s degree in Planning, Architecture, Civil Engineering, and Master’s Degree in Geography, Economics and Sociology.


10. Master of Planning (Transport Planning**) (Transport Planning and Logistics Management*)

Open to the candidates with Bachelor’s degree in Planning, Architecture, Civil Engineering, and Master’s Degree in Geography, Economics and Statistics, and Operation Research


11. Master of Planning (Urban Planning)

Open to the candidates with Bachelor’s degree in Planning, Architecture, Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering and Master’s Degree in Geography, Economics and Sociology.


12. Master of Planning (Housing)

Open to the candidates with Bachelor’s degree in Planning, Architecture, Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Building Engineering and Master’s Degree in Geography, Economics and Sociology.


DESIRABLE QUALIFYING ENTRANCE EXAMINATION REQUIREMENTS BUT NOT MANDATORY

  • GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering): Required for engineering, architecture and planning graduates

  • CEED (Common Entrance Examination for Design): Required for design-related programs

  • UGC NET: Required for candidates with master’s degrees in humanities and sciences
