The Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) has announced plans to enhance metro connectivity between Noida and Delhi by extending a metro line to link the upcoming Noida International Airport near the Yamuna Expressway with Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport. This initiative aims to provide seamless travel options for commuters between the two cities.
The extension will be added to the Golden Route, which currently connects Aero city to Tughlakabad. Under the new plan, the route will be extended by 5 kilometers, linking Tughlakabad to Kalindi Kunj and further integrating with the Magenta Line at the Botanical Garden Metro Station. This expansion is expected to significantly improve travel convenience for passengers commuting between Delhi and Noida.
To support the project, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has requested Rs 9.50 billion in funding from the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA). Once completed, the extension to Kalindi Kunj, along with the Magenta Line connection, will greatly enhance metro accessibility in the region.
The Botanical Garden Metro Station will play a key role in this development, offering improved access for residents of Noida and Greater Noida. This extension will also create a direct metro route to both Noida International Airport and IGI Airport, making air travel more efficient and convenient for commuters.
